The MDQ allows you to screen patients and identify those suffering from premenstrual or menstrual distress. It produces a comprehensive description of the symptoms experienced by each patientwhich helps you formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan. The MDQ can also be used to monitor each patients progress and evaluate treatment effectiveness. |

Composed of 47 items, this self-report inventory distinguishes cyclical from noncyclical changes in physical symptoms, mood, behavior, and arousal. It identifies the type and intensity of symptoms experienced during each of the three phases of a patients menstrual cyclethe 4 days prior to menstrual flow, menstruation, and the remainder of the cycle. |

The MDQ is available in two forms that can be used individually or together to develop a complete picture of a patients symptoms. |

- Form C (Cycle) is a retrospective screening tool. It asks about symptoms experienced during the most recent menstrual cycle. Because Form C takes only 10--15 minutes to fill out, it can easily be completed in the waiting room.
- Form T (Today) contains the same 47 items as Form C, but it is completed every day over two or more cycles to build an accurate profile of symptoms.

The MDQ can be hand scored using the Questionnaire Forms, or can be computer scored using WPS TEST REPORT prepaid Mail-In Answer Sheets. Computer scoring gives you a complete interpretive report, including symptom significance and specific treatment options.
